This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Geocaching Buddy (“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by BtStSoft. The Application is used by geocachers to calculate new waypoints based on clues found in a multicache or mystery cache.
User Provided Information
The Application uses the Groundspeak Live API to download caches from geocaching.com. Registration with them is optional. However, please keep in mind that you may not be able to download geocaching.com caches unless you register with them.
The application only stores an access token received from geocaching.com using the OAuth protocol. This means we do not know your password on geocaching.com and you can always revoke access by this app using the tools provided at geocaching.com.
When making an e-mail backup the email address is stored in the app for future use and also shared with the external e-mail app.
Automatically Collected Information
The Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system and the type of mobile Internet browsers you use.
We do not monitor the usage of the application.
When you visit the mobile application, we use GPS technology to accurately determine your current location. We will not share your current location with other users or partners.
When searching around your current location using a geocaching server like opencaching.de or geocaching.com, your location is transmitted as part of the search API.
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
We will retain the geocaching.com access token on the device.
